Warren Resigns Over MS Society’s Stance on Liberation Treatment

The chair of the NL chapter of the MS society has resigned in protest following a report that clinical trials of the so-called “liberation treatment” will not be supported by the national organization. Ted Warren says the society has lined up against the wishes of most of its members and he is dumbfounded. He says the society is wrong and they don’t seem to appreciate the importance of the hope this treatment has given to MS sufferers. Warren says this is a special circumstance that justifies special action in the form of getting to national clinical trials as soon as possible.

The Canadian Institute of Health Research and the MS Society of Canada announced Tuesday that there was no medical evidence to support clinical trials of the controversial treatment. Warren says he has written to the national president, citing his disappointment. He says given those living with MS have so much to lose he doesn’t see how they could not support.

Thank you Ted for taking this stand. We need people like you in our corner. I have been a very active member of my local MS chapter for many years. I have now lost faith in their cause. To not support the CCSVI theory when there is evidence of so many MSrs who have been greatly helped by this procedure is totally unacceptable. I am done. I will no longer be volunteering and fundraising as I have for years for the “cause”. I feel ashamed at how the society is handling this. So many family and friends of mine have faithfully supported the suciety—for what? For refusing to improve our quality of life??!! Everybody remember the MS Society of Canada’s mission “To be a leader in finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life”.—-WHAT???!!!
